Well we've had a great first season with our new to us 'van.

Today we've just put her to bed till the spring, and as i was emptying out all the bedding i felt really sad. It only seems like last week i had gone and bought all the bedding etc for our new toy!

Our first trip was through a blizzard and we got through 80 litres of water in 10 mins before we realised to close the valve!! We've had snow, blizzards, gales, sunburn in May. Flash floods and the most amazing lightening storms on our first 2 week hols in July. Fog, rain and mist on our last break.

Each adverse trip we've had we just say the mantra 'At least we are not in the tent!!'

It's been great, now I can't wait for Easter!!

Snap we bought our new van a fortnight ago and made sure we went away for half term and we really enjoyed our selves now it must come to an end.

We will now spend the next 5mth getting all excited for next year and plan all our new expiditions although its not the same as actually been there doing it i must agree.

Last year me and the sister in law spent all our time on msn moaning to each other and sending all our hol photos back and forth and reminicing, before we new it season had started and off we were again roll on next  season.

Why not use the van in winter? we have been caravaning for 2 years now and have used it almost as much in the winter months as the summer. Take extra blankets, socks and turn up the heating, a hot toddy also helps.

i agree with denise. it's still only october. we may get another month before cold weather comes.

it was that cold last year that we used to fight over who would get out of bed in a morning to put the heating on. i always lost.

if there is no snow or frost on roads while your travelling you'll be ok. we enjoy it in winter.

We would love to, but here in Aberdeenshire the nearest all year sites are nearly 2 hours away. No use for us when the OH finishes work on the Friday. Oh and they are all in the Cairngorms so you have the added disadvantage of them being quite hard to get to when the weather is inclemant. Can't see his work accepting that he isn't at work on the Monday due to the snow/ice trapping us in the Aviemore area!!
