The fan system is an 'add on' to the standard Truma 3002 gas fire, the Ultraheat is also an add on and is an electric element similar to look at to the element in an electric cooker but with just three heat settings. The problem with this is each has a separate control but all work together in any combination.
Apart from 'off' the fan has two working settings and a fan speed dial, 'A' is for Automatic where the fan speed rises and falls to the maximum set speed on the dial. the other position keeps the fan at a constant speed again as set by the dial.
The Ultraheat control has three heat output settings (500w, 1000w or 2000w) and a temperature dial similar to the homes thermostat but marked 1-9 instead of in degrees. 7 is roughly 20degC with each division about 1.5degs up or down.
The gas fire control dial is also numbered, 1 roughly represents 15degs and 10 35degs but it's not as precise as the electric heating control and experience will find the best setting for the van.
