I have now ordered a Kelty Mantra 7 - different from the Cabanon and Karsten!!!!!!
Have always found Amercian quality first class: Had a North Face Himalayan Hotel and still on a MSR Microzoid.
American and fairly cheap (Ebay!!).....am now considering trailer tent which was our initial thought when getting out of caravanning. We dont have a garage - has anyone any experience of storing trailer tent outside???? Dont want to ruin our investment.
not sure if this shuld be in the TT section but anyway, Both myself and my parents stored out TTs outside, just get a good outdoor cover or tarp, and make sure the centre is raised (I made a 2"x1" frame) to stop water pooling, and remove the mattresses if you can, otherwise had no problems

As above, had a Raclet and also found water pooling main problem. We put a slightly flat football in middle under the cover just because we happened to have one. Agree re good outdoor cover. Problem was mainly making sure it was bone dry before we shut it all away. Only kept it for two years though and passed it onto kids who keep it in a garage.
I loved my TT, alas the wife had other ideas, and so did time, i had to get shut when Dent gave her its worst this easter and killed off the canvas, So we got our van, love it to bits, dont think id change back now, its just soo easy to pitch rather than the hour and a bit it took to sort the TT out.
Crikey I remember having my trailer tent, I loved it so much room. But I couldnt understand that people only stayed a night or two nwext to me. Then my wife explained that at night when I go to bed I transform into a living pneumatic drill. So I decided to buy a caravan to help my fellow campers. *********I will say now sorry for keeping anyone awake in the past and if in future you see our van stay well away when I have had a drink (usually spirits)
Park up next to us. Its so much better in stereo. Maybe your wife and I can sit up and talk rather than idle our time away kicking you both. And we could ensure that all bottles are emptied, concern for fellow campers and all that.
Cheers Purplehat. Sometimes on a balmy night I will sit up in bed reading sometimes til 2 with the large skylight open and listen to someone snoring in the distance. Then a silence and a shout "no i was not snoring" AHHHH the joys of caravanning.
