right just so I get this right

take the cold feed direct from the second inlet at the filter end, to the heater

remove the T join and just have it going direct from the filtered side ..there for now have two pipes at the filter

oh and those joins your on about are fitted as standard on the van...shows them in the instructions

Yes and yes but those joints "I'm on about" are fitted for speed of assembly not for speed of flow!!

well think your right...have put the cold feed direct from the filter, but while it was all off also took the cold feed off at toilet tap, and blew throught the pipe...did manage it but it took a bit of puff. Flow is a bit better, but not as I had in old van. I also see that they have taken a T connection then a elbow from the main pipe to  feed to the toilet taps then another at the tap itself..kitchen has another t piece before the taps,...have no idea though how to remove these connectors,, and unsure how to join another bit of pipe to the ones already there as they are a plastic pipe,....would a bigger bore over that work ?

and where to buy y piece

well called in someone to look at the water pipes (brother in law who is a plumber)

took the connections off pipes (speed fit type) and blew through ..and it was al ok. he checked doubt the system and his thoughts are that the 10mm hose is too small to get any more pressure than what we have, even if the T was replaced with a Y and the elbows removed..he doubts it would make that much of a difference (though he did say its better if its a Y and as few elbows)

We put a length of garden hose from the filter outlet to a tap ...and the water poured out.

I have also tried to find this 10mm hose on the web..every water hose I have found says 12mm for the fresh water system.

SO we both think that's the problem ...guess I need to replace this 10mm pipe with the blue 12mm hose ..should be fun as its all behind the bathroom fittings

Went searching for figures on how much elbows and tees reduce flow and as far as gas is concerned it's measured as an extra half metre of pipe per fitting. The logic being the overall pipe length is increased and its the friction in long runs of pipe that is the real restriction to flow. For pipe have you tried CAK Tanks ? They specialise in motorhome/caravan water systems.

As an aside, the search led me to a similar discussion on an AMD 'overclocking' forum?, this is where people try and get AMD computer processors to run faster than designed...a lot lot faster!!. They are also concerned about elbows slowing flow rates in their water cooling systems which they use to stop the processor melting!!!

Interesting for me as I was doing the same with early AMD chips many years ago...wish I'd thought about water cooling!
