Not too sure why people think Isabella are the best, however, in our honest opinion we have had Isabella and our current Inaca Elba Plus awning we think is far better

You might consider a Ventura?  They are made in an Eastern European factory which is in fact owned by Isabella. 

The production costs are therefore lower, and the models are less luxurious than the Isabellas, but they use all the same fabrics, zips, fastenings etc, and share a lot of the qualities of the Isabellas.

I would agree with Jennifer too, Trio also have a good reputation for quality.

I have to say the quality of Isabella speaks for itself - I often see ancient Isabella awnings in yesteryear colours & styles still in use and still looking as smart as the day they were made.  I can't say I've seen any other makes of awning that seem to have the longevity and I guess Isabellas can easily outlive the caravans they were originally bought for!!

We have an Isabella which is the size of a bungalow !! don't use it very often as its so big and takes too long to putup, having said that it is well made and was a bargin,only used twice by the person we bought it off and we paid £220 !! and it included a bedroom anex, new it would have been over £1400

Our first awning (before we changed to motorhomes) was an Isabella. It was 1 year old when we bought it. We had it for 5 years, and it was still as good as new.

We went back to tugging in 2001, when we bought an Elddis Whirlwind 2-berth.  We bought a Bradcot awning and the stitching started to fail first time out, so we got a refund.  We then bought a Trio Sport awning.

Now we have a larger van, we bought a Dorema awning, and are not happy with it. Unable to get a reasonable offer for the Trio, we had it converted to a "combi" - sort of halfway between a porch and a full awning.  We have used it once only since modification, but are very pleased we kept it.

The problem with awnings is that, like cars and caravans, whatever the make, you will hear one owner despairing over the same model that someone else is absolutely delighted with. Faults occur, for various reasons, in all manufacturing industries, so the good and bad reports will always cloud the issue.
