Hi I have bought a second hand Trio Sport Awning with a full set of new curtains.  Should there be curtain poles or do the curtains attach to the awning itself.  Thick I know but if I don't ask I will never know lol

Our Trio Midi Porch has slim extending poles that thread through the curtains and fix into loops either side of the windows.

Yes, I think most awning curtains need a pole. If there missing I know they can be easily replaced at most good caravan accessory shops.

I have a NR Awning and that has a plastic track sewn in above the windows and the curtains just clip on to the track. In fact i purchased a annexe which had a misted window and no curtains. I arranged for a track to be sewn in so I could put in privacy curtains. This was done by the canvas repair centre in burton on trent.

If the curtains have a pocket along the top then they need poles.  Ours are aluminium , about 12/15mm diameter, in 2 pieces so one bit slides inside the other for adjustment, and there are black plastic flanged pieces on the ends that hang in loops sewn either side of the window.

I don't know if this fixing method is unique to Trio, but if it is then you might need to contact them to obtain the correct poles.  Or they could tell you which dealer can supply the poles.

Thanks everyone.  The curtains have little plastic hook type things and the awning window looks like it should take a pole.  Will get intouch with trio reps and see what I should do...though a big bit of string comes to mind lol.

Hi,

We had a Trio without the poles, they can be a bit flimsy. We used doweling with rubber bands on each end to stop them falling out. Check what size will run through the curtains but I think it was about 3/4" diameter (18 mm to you youngters)
