a long shot but does any one know if any one has a caravan for sale i ideally want to  spend about £1000.00 to £1500.00 for a dry van in good condition about early 90s

I bought mine on Ebay for £675 and its fine, if you like the look of one just view it before you buy and above all take a damp meter along (about £15 from B&Q) dont be afraid to go all over the inside looking for damp, there are bargains to be had on there but also some damp wrecks that are described as dry, buyer beware!.

I have a 1989 Swift Danette 5-berth that's been in covered storage for the past couple of years; never got round to permanently siting it in France which was the original plan!!

I Bought mine off Ebay - went to look before, and described as dry! well, there is some damp in there, near the door, however points I have decided upon;-

It cost £1700 with awning and porch awning, microwave, kettle, toaster cushions, water hot and cold and heater.

So far this year I have used it for 3 weeks in the summer hols, numerous weekends away, and when we went to norfolk, it was either £600 in a static or £175 in mine, so if this van lasts me 3 years, and we can save on renting statics, I will have had my money out of it,

I know this is possibly not the right approach - however my first van, I can tinker about with it and If I had had an accident in it, I wouldn't be so upset as if I had took a bankloan out and bought one for 5 or 6k, so rough with the smooth, the previous year we spent £2000 on a summer holiday and I am spending £5000 to go to Florida next year for my 40th, and I think, well, we have had some really nice times this year in it, and I couldn't have afforded to spend lots of times looking round and wasting the summer, so it has served it's purpose.

Also from upgrading from a TT, I may not have liked vanning, so again, if I had only used it a fe times, it wouldn't have been too bad.....happy looking
