Happy New Year to you all. Has anybody got one of these awnings? Ordered one yesterday for £270 for a size 14 plus £1 delivery from outdoormegastore. It's obviously at the budget end of the market but I'd be interested to hear any of your opinions on the awning.

Hi Mark,

i've been looking around for info on these awnings and come across your post, can you tell me what they are like, i've been thinking of buying one because of the price (don't want to spend too much on an awning for our old caravan, and can't find a decent 2nd hand one). Would be interested to hear your opinion of it.

It does the job fine - but as the name implies it is lightweight. Just got back from the lakes yesterday and the awning was fine. I would advise a tie down kit be used with the awning as being lightweight it does need pegging out fully and would benefit from a tie down kit. I'll have one for the next trip!

We have one, it stood up to the wind and rain during bank holiday weekend really well. We did have a tie down kit and would have hated to have any awning up without one. Dried out in about half an hour.  Only thing is now I think I would go for an awning where you can unzip all the panels, as it would make drying at home much easier.  Good value for money. If we were camping for more long breaks I would go for a canvas awning though.

thanks for that, very helpful. I assumed the panels zipped out as the one i've seen comes with an annex, on looking at the advert again only the left panel comes out for the annex, this might make things awkward for us as we don't have alot of room for drying out wet awnings, then again, with it being lightweight it should be easier to handle. Tie down kit not a problem, we have two (inherited one with van), and there are occasions when i'm tempted to use both, i get very nervous in windy weather!

Is the material (210d polyester ripstop it says in ad) the same as is used for tents and dome shaped porch awnings?

It appears to be the same but I am far from an expert on materials. It is only the left side which unzips on ours too. It is very light weight.  There are two connections for a Sunncamp tie down which we intend to buy, as I think the other type will wear the material in time.

yes thats where i've bought mine from (finally went for it!), presumably the same seller as they were the only ones i could find, and i've trawled and trawled through ebay looking at awnings!

Has yours arrived yet, if it has how long was delivery, and have you had a chance to check it out yet?
