Don,t anyone take this the wrong way, if you go living in a caravan fulltime do you not get tarred with the same brush as gypsies and tinkers, they have, rightly or wrongly a terrible reputation. How do you seperate yourself from that kind of reputation? Do you have problems getting on sites?
Good question.  We normally visit the site first and introduce ourselves.  Most times you get told you can only stay a month but once they see that everything is okay it becomes indefinite as you are a steady income for them.

Lastly before this question comes up, we have 4 Yorkshire terriers and the cat living with us and they all love the freedom.  No worries with the cat being knocked over or similar.  No worries about little yobs wreaking things.  Occasionally you get people who cause mayhem but the wardens generally take care of them if a birdie whispers in their ear.

The only instance that i cna remember where people were asked to leave was when a couple emptied their loo in the early hours of the morning under the drinking water tap despite a large sign pointing the way to the chemical disposal unit.  Unfortunatley they did not realise that the site is covered with CCTV so later that morning the warden went to them and after a bit of discussion asked them to leave.

Hi, following this thread with great interest, I am interested in how you manage to use the internet. What sort of system do you use being on the move. I would like to spend more time away in the future but would need to access the internet for my business.
Dave.

Hello dartrader, I use vodafone datacard pluged into laptop, £25 +vat per month includes 250mb data transfer, they also do one for £50 per month with unlimited use, I went for the cheaper option and so far it has worked out about right for my needs but if need be I can always upgrade, if you start with the dearer option you can't downgrade untill contract runs out.........Mark

I've been full timing since July 2006. Have been moving around between local CLs and haven't found being limited to 4 weeks per stay too much of a burden. I enjoy the regular changes in scenery. I work full time and have internet access at work so not being on line at the caravan isn't really a problem. Lack of an 'investment' in bricks and mortar doesn't really bother me as I was renting anyway. I just got fed up with the cost of housing rocketing up (£800 a month for a 2 bed pokey terraced if you include council tax) and since I enjoy the outdoor life anyway it seemed like the ideal solution. So far no regrets and I bet it stays that way too.

Regards,

SD
