here we go guys ,,,, we park our van on a local farm. its very very secure, large grizzly snarling dogs roming free in the yard. we have access when we want, just ring the land owner so he calls the dogs in. it costs us the handsome price of £2 per week. thats £104 per year. they have never had a van stolen or even attempts made to break in to them.
Its a good price,I pay £250. per yr I store near sheffield and its worth every penny for the peace of mind and I get my own pitch, level pitch, hard standing,24hr access, gold award

I think I got a good deal looking at these posts, £160 on a gold cassoa site. cctv, 24 hour survailence etc. It is part of a site used for storage, tucked away in the bottom through two locked gates. Site is expensive though and has very little in the way of ammenities. Guess he makes his money in my using the site for weekends when I can't be bothered towing the van away.
My mistake, it is a SILVER cassoa, still seems very reasonable against what others are paying.
Ours is on a Silver Award CASSoA Site, which costs almost £400 per year. However, ours is indoors, in a former cattle shed. It is dry, airy and more secure. We can hitch up, load up etc, in a downpour and the van only accumulates a layer of dust - no black streaks or green roof! No faded soft furnishings and no sun-baked tyres.
Having just traded in our nearly 4 year old van, we got top book price for it, which we reckon justifies some of the extra cost of indoor storage.
Vic I do agree that caravanning is not a cheap exercise these days. I remember when my parents paid £50 a year for storage and I think our storage and the site we use are expensive (they are one and the same place). A seasonal pitch is £1400 a year and you still have to pay £200 for the winter storage. At the mo we pay because the area suits us and the people and site are very nice but I think that we will have to reconsider at some stage. We don't have a seasonal pitch because we can't justify it but it costs us £400 odd a year to store and we pay each time they tow it on and off the pitch. This year it is £18 a night during the peak period for a serviced pitch, no sky point just water, drainage, hardstanding and electric and there is nothing on the site other than loos, showers and a play pitch. I think this is quite high having looked around at a few other sites.
that is a great price were in solihull birmingham and when we were looking for storage the price ranged from £200- £400. so at £150 you have a great bargain. we could do with those storage sites near us . happy caravaning
I pay over the odds acoording to posts on this thread but you lot obviously dont have a GORDON. You can turn up whenever to visit your van, you have to give a few days notice if you want to take it out (out of courtesy more than anything else), but above all its alot safer there than that my house. He has 24hr guards that have to walk round and "check in" at varoius sites around the compound and if you aint got your card you cant get your van! Its a silver cassoa but in my opinion it should be a gold+. A place literally just 2mins away is gold and cheaper but not 24hrs and I have reservations of them being happy about us returning at 6pm on a sunday in the winter. Birmingham Caravan storage is tops!!! Keep it up Gordon!
I wouldn't be happy about having to give a few days notice to get my van or to have a time limit on when I could return it.
We pay £200 per year, it has CCTV, lights & high fences with a key fob to open the high gate. We can get in any time we like. The owner lives right next to it & we are happy with the facility.
Seems a good price now after reading this thread.
Up in bonnie Ayrshire it costs £2 a week upwards. £2 gets you a farmers field with no hard standing and easily seen from the main road. I was asked by a CASSOA site to £232 a year which was okay but I didnt like the fact that only got you 6 in/outs per year. The site owner had to put your van in and out and over the 6 limit he charged £12 a shot.
Eventually found a farmers barn for £20 per month which allows me to charge my battery and use his hose etc for washing the van. At least it is under cover all year. Mind you that has its problems as I had to buy a caravan cover (cheap) to stop the little birdies decorating the roof and sides of my van.
The big problem is that caravaning has got popular with not increase (up here) in storage spaces and you really have got to take it or leave it.
