Hi all,
Does anybody know if the Bailey Auvergne or Provence have external gas and electrical points?
Also does the Auvergne have an L-shaped option.
We are looking to buy a Bailey but are unsure whether to go with an 05/06 Pagent or a new Ranger 500/5 any help apriciated, thanks.
Bailer Ranger 500/5 best by far we picked one up last week, fantastic layout better than L shape no outside gas point but storage comfort and brilliant finishes on the 5 Series go for it you will not be disappointed

We saw the 500/5 at the weekend and was impressed, on your van are there any end cushions to finish off the seating or do you only have the long cushions.
We have the long ones (in the front) and two smaller ones that you have on a settee at home, we have U Shaped pillows which we take to put up by the drawer and the seat is long enough for an adult to lie down on, the wooden privacy screen at the rear is brilliant giving the children a great bedroom and it is so light due to the windows and sun roof/lights it is smashing, no outside electrical point either. Cavenous front bin and loads of storage space for 2 adullts and 2/3 ankle /waist biters/huggers. well worth the money (we used to have a Ranger 470/4 but 500/5 layout is fantastic).
Stop it now, you are all making me jealous 'cos I want a 500/5! Glad you are all pleased with them it is a shame they stopped making the Auvergne this year.
We have a 06 provance which we bought in Sept we didn't have a outside gas point but managed to get one fitted for free from our dealer he said this would normally be £100 never thought of elec socket as we had folding camper before and didnt really know about outside socket would be handy for awning.
The caravan its self is great and have allready spent over 30 nights in it very comfy family van and allthough it is quite large it is also very easy to tow and push.
My wife and daugther think the having own shower is great, the van is also very warm we normally and light and loads of spot lights so ideal for reading when everyone else sleeping.
Hope this helps i have went on a bit but if you need any more info on the Provance just ask
just sold our Bailey Auvergne after 5 good years, It was 2001 and we had a electric point fitted by the dealer. Friends bought a new Provence last year and we fancied the l shape front and separate shower. opted for a compass omega 505 with same lay out and so far so good. liked the look of the compass and found the provence just as expensive, that was down to the dealer offering buttons for the Bailey. Provence is quite a long van for only a single axle. The compass is slightly shorter but wider
we have the 500/5 and love it,ours did not have the cushions in the front window only the long ones as per normal.i believe you can have them made, not sure.we had two round ones made by others and the placed a large cushion/pillow over the top.cost £16 each.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
I think the external BBQ point is a bit of a waste of time. Its fine if you dont have the awning, up but if you do you have to get about 15foot of rubber tubing. If you BBQ too close to the awning you will get greasy splatter marks which will ruin it. There is safety aspect of tripping over and causing a fire. In my case I get such a pressure drop I cant get full on pressure. Those are the bad points but there are also the good points which I will leave for someone else.
We have one but getting that length of pipe is against the regs
Our dealer turns a blind eye but my friend who does work for several caravan dealers had to get me to get him some pipe as none of his contacts would supply long lengths.
Disposable barbecues need no pipe or external point
