What are the advantages/disadvantages of having an L shaped lounge over the more conventional twin bench layout?  I have seen a van I like but not sure how practical it will be in use.

Hi

Our last caravan had an L shaped lounge and it was great during the day.  There seemed to be more leg room for stretching out.  The downside for us was ours was a 2 berth and it was a pain to make the bed up each evening.

Topcat,

You will get many many opinions on the lounge,    We took our family and thanks to the sales team spent almost an hour in the van sitting in various positions, getting table out etc..........  and we went with the L shape.     great for ou 6' 4 son with long legs.

Go to a dealers, look, try. Try again. go away come back and try again

It takes a bit of getting used to at meal times, not quite as communal as side by side.          I love it as the wife cant put her feet across the aisle any more

We just changed ours back to parallel seating, the bed making can be a pain especially at the end of a long day and then the sitting under the window it's best to have a hunch on your back to fit snuggly.

On our 2nd L shape & consider them great for 2 plus dog - no problem with beds, easily makes up into double +single berth, accommodates dog aswell.   Denis

Def. an each to his own situation. We tried an L lounge design.( no dogs). OH just took an instant dislike to them. No particular reason, he said it didn't feel right and that was it really.

We are on our second L-shape, loved the first but got fed up making up the bed (it wasnt a problem) I got lazy, so now I think we have the best of both worlds, L shape and an end bedroom. We have 2 dogs and the room is great. In an L shape I dont think you feel as claustrophobic, but its each to their own.

Organised people are just too lazy to look for things.
