Do not store anything of weight at the back, it must go over or as near to the axle as possible. Can you not put some weight in the car, but to be honest 4lbs over should not be a problem, but you will just have to move stuff around and see if you can get it down a bit.
Try a short tow and see how it handles.

hi to be safe you need to get it down to the nose weight as per towbar,ie.75/80/100 kgs what ever.do you have a spare wheel in the front?this can go in the boot of the car, weight 19 kgs.do you have two bottles of gas in the front?only take one.we have the same problems with the 500/5 of ours.its a juggling act.work to the towbar weight and not the 7%.as flack says you should not weigh down the back to lift the nose it can make the van unstable.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
avondale's store the gas and spare wheel over the axle. so if i take the weight from the rear and back to the axle,i don't know how to get the weight down
my cars max is 80lbs. caravan laden weight is 1200, so 7% is 84lbs.so i thought best to not go over the 80lbs (5.7 stone)
All weights given for car and caravan will be in Kg ( Kilograms ) 80Kg is equal to 176lbs or 12.5 stones. I think that you are confusing the two different systems of weight.

my thoughts too....
1200 kgs = 84kgs at 7%
nose now at 8 stone = 112lbs or 51 kgs/too light

thanks steve, how could i have mixed the two
i could have set up the van to be very dangerous.
Don't worry bud its better to ask on here and be sure instead of trying to explain to plod that you thought it was loaded ok and all your kit is all over the road.
Now you can concentrate on having a good time.

True; I believe it was a Mars shot, and they confused distances (feet/metres) etc.....

Keep heavy things in the van at floor level, and as near to the axle as possible, although you can load slightly behind the axle. We have an end bathroom, and the awning goes in there, at floor level. This is not heavy enough to create rear-end sway.
Do not exceed the car manufacturer's specified noseweight.
If you load things into the car, keep heaviest items as near to the front as possible (well inside the wheelbase). You have two things to consider regarding the car. (1) Do not exceed the specified maximum weight on rear axle. (2) Do not exceed permissible gross vehicle weight (GVW) of car.
The necessary information will be in the technical section of the vehicle handbook. It may sound a bit complicated, but you will be surprised how easy it is for the loading procedure to become second nature.
