Low Noise Blocker, it collects the signal from the satellite dish.you need a twin LNB to watch one channel and record another

Quad LNB for Sky+ and/or multiroom

With a twin/quad LNB you can use one dish between 2+ caravans !!

First one to arrive sets up dish and friends then just connect to spare outlets

Done that

hi

we bought an all in one satellite dish and receiver in a case cost 89.99 from maplins works superb easy set up either suction cupped or bracketed which are both supplied.  All  freeview channels are available.  What we do is take our sky box with card and can watch all of sky channels we subscribe to.   Now we have bought a sky reciever we just take our card with us, as sky no longer lock cards to receivers.  So now our card can go with us in any receiver.

Does the non locking of of Sky cards in different digiboxes only apply to FTV channels?

Anyone shed any light on this problem please.

I purchased a portable sky dish and receiver from Makro, the setup works fine with the freeview receiver provided but won't work with my sky box from home. The sky box attempts to power up, the screen goes scrambled and the box switches off, this process repeats over. When plugged in at home it works fine. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Was it a SKY dish you bought or a SATELLITE dish.

Erm, sorry to contradict, but that's just plain wrong!!!    Every Sky viewing card has a unique chip and a 9 digit card number.  Unless you only want free to air channels, and a "wrong card for set top box" message on any premium channels (including any for which you pay a subscription) you will need to pair your card to the box in which it's being used.

The engineer does this on installation by getting the box to do a callback to Sky and, barring any problems, card and box will remain paired until one or other is changed.  Sky Customer Services will start asking questions if you're calling to pair your card to another box every other weekend and then again every time you get home, especially if you have multiroom, the T's & C's of which say all boxes must remain connected to the same active phone line at all times (and that assumes with the correct viewing card in those boxes).  This is how Sky verifies that it's just one household benefitting from the £10 per month multiroom subscription and the card is not being used to broadcast the football to 200 people in the local pub!

Obviously, if you take your own Sky Box or Sky+, keeping the card with it, you won't have this problem.

Only other thing to remember is that the the general T's & C's of Sky viewing make it clear that you agree to avail yourself of the service within the UK only.
