Jenny I have no idea how the size of a Avondale Grampian caravan but to get around the fridge issue we have a small deep freeze and also a cool box.  As our Lunar has a fixed island bed, no problems there but I understand where you are coming from.

Most peopre thinking of doing it permanently need to buy the biggest caravan that they can afford otherwise they will encouter problems such as you have described.  Winter has been no problem for us and this is the second winter that we have spent in the caravan.

Hi, that's why we keep the house!

Although I love being in the van it is a really enjoyable leisure persuit I could not contemplate giving up my "home".

How about my hobbies?

I build model aeroplanes and tinker with a motorbike....., not easy in a van. I think there are more negatives than positives attached to full timing.

Yes, when retirement comes I do hope to have a "gap year" and rent out the house and go see the Northern Lights (my ambition before I croak) and then drive down from Sweden through to Spain and then sell up and buy a eco friendly log cabin by the sea, but not give up having a permanent base.

Each to their own though!

regards

Mr Ulti-Mate
