HI iv'e just come back from a weekend away from a site where i  did not have a very good reception on my caravan aerial.

So i plugged in my aerial lead to the aerial point on the EHU and external point on caravan and found that this didn't give me a signal aswell.

then i plugged my  tv aerial through my window directly to my tv and got a brilliant signal can anybody let me know what i need to do to get a good signal via external aerial point...thanks

When I tried a jockey wheel mounted ariel there was no signal.  Then when I connected it through a window it worked ok.  When I checked the lead from the external socket it ran to the wardrobe and ended coiled up not attached to anything.  I have since run it around to the internal socket and all works fine now.  I had to sort it myself and got no help from the dealer who we bought the van from new - just flannel.

We had 3 new caravans and 3 mororcaravans and with each we found the fitted tv aerial gave poor reception compared to a cheap multi element antenna mounted outside.

A major factor is they are directional so can be tuned.

We still use a multi element aerial with our fc but have to be more creative in finding a mounting point.  

We do not use our internal tv point for the same reason but plug direct from the tv to the aeriel on a bollard point we just use a long coax cable that came from our local caravan shop for about £10.  We plug straight from tv through window and into the bollard and have not had a problem.

I had exactly the same problem . In the end I chased the cable back and found under the wardrobe fllor is were they met and guess what. No connection at all. Soon fixed that though.

Are crystal and lunar built in the same factory.  Perhaps they leave them unconnected in case the purchaser wants to fit a status ariel.
