I see the new pageant Vendee Has a new front fixed bed layout, now am I missing something here?

 Please tell me why anyone would want a fixed front bed, in my opinion the front of the van is for looking out of and watching the world go by, or maybe now and again to watch the new neighbours have a domestic whilst erecting their complicated awning.

 Surely on most sites the least attractive area is at the back of your van where there is often a hedge, fence or wall and you wouldn't want to sit having breakfast looking out at that, would you? Bailey call it the 'ground-breaking new Paqgeant Vendee'.

        Me I'm confused.

Ah.. you don't get a crick in your neck with the new Pagieant, it has a straighter front, unlike some of the other makes.

 I'm afraid I am nosey so it wouldn,t do for me.

I have a Series 5 vendee and love it, but don't think I will move up to the series 6 with front fixed bed as I also like to watch the world go by.

The higher back is so that the lounge looks more spacious,  You can still watch the world go by, the window is in the back, just park up with the back facing outwards

I think its simply because it is a very popular layout in European vans. They seem to copy our layouts and we do the same in return!

Mudlark its not back to towing a brick as the Senator 6 has already got the same aerodynamics.Bailey seem to be using this design on all their models now.

Our friends have a Swift and on long trips they collect far less dead flies etc on the front of their van than we do on the Senator.

On the other hand on site which is where you are most the extra front headroom and bigger roof lockers are appreciated. 

The Vendee is more like a motor home with a spacious rear lounge area but no steering wheel at the front !

Its not an unusual design on continental vans so it may be aimed at that market as well 

We park sideways, awning out to the front !

Just the two of us , so we don't have a bedroom, nor a lounge, nor a kitchen, nor a bathroom.

Just a caravan.

The level roof on the Bailey is also better if you want to use a roll out canopy over the door
