Hi ya all,

This is the second time i will be taking my van out as i am very new to it all (only bought it last year and only managed to get away for a weekend!!) But my problem is that i can never remember the obvious things to take!!! Last year i forgot toilet rolls, cleaning stuff and towels to name but a few. I have 2 boys and made sure they had everything though.

I was wondering if anyone had a basic list so that i can scan down it to make sure i have all the important bits. I know you can generally buy forgotten items but its quite frustrating when you have them ready at home.

I did empty the van totally last year before i put her to bed for the winter so there is nothing in it at all.

Any help would be much appriciated.

Everyone is different, you should make your own list.    I try to think through one "activity" at a time, like" using the bathroom",  "going to bed", and so on.  I do the same when packing clothes, starting with the underwear and working outwards!

I keep a notebook in the van with it all in, plus any other important details, then I know where it all is.

Just take everything you think you ever might need---then after a few trips leave behind the stuff you never use--& you should be about right--

This is pretty much what I do as well. However, we did go away one weekend and forget the sleeping bags!  So - I made a list and added to it as I thought of things, then I put it on the computer with tick boxes and every time we go away I print a copy and check things off, even the things that I know are in the van.

I asked for this list also. On our first trip I forgot the towing mirrors and the first thing I said to the guy in the van next to us was "Can I borrow your winder mate?" left mine on the driveway. Managed to bring everything else though.

Well we have been away for a week and forgot the table all my fault says hubby (I was using it for my sewing machine) had to buy a roll away one.

I start at the front of the van and just fill every locker and cupboard to the brim especially the ones that hold drink (most of them) you can never have to much wine and  beer then follow this up with food anything else is not important.
