Hi I am Kim,
New to this site today but would like a little advice before I go ahead and buy one. I've seen the portable washing machines in Towsure Catalogue and wondered if they're any good. We have 4 children and last year when we went away I ended up using more clothes then what I thought cos of the weather and ended up handwashing, what a pain in the butt!!
So I thought maybe I could invest in one of these gadgets, but I dont want to waste money if they're rubbish!
Please could you help and shove me in the right direction
also if anyone would have any ideas, obviously I cant take a cot for my 10 month old so what could I put him to sleep in that would be safe enough, I wash thinking one of those airbeds for children with the sides on, they're about £30 in Argos but does anyone else have a better idea please.
A very inexperienced caravanner!!
thank you guys
Kim

I wouldn't personally buy one as it adds too much extra weight for my liking. When the kids were young, I made sure that any campsite I used had washing machines and got up early to make sure I got my washes in before the morning rush.

Hi Kim and welcome to the madhouse.
Have not used one of these but used a similar idea a few years ago. I could have done better with my hands and a bowl. Think your best idea would be to use on site launderette, many have them these days. or find a local landerette if desperate. Have to think of the weight and storage factor also.

Hi Kim, We would not buy one of those washing machines as they take up too much already limited space and most good sites now have laundry facilities. When we go away we sometimes take our grand children and when they were small we bought a travel cot from Mother Care and found it very good when placed on top of the bed in the corner. I have had a look for you on EBay and you could check out item 120102244174 or type in travel cot
Best Wishes and Happy Caravanning. Sam.

i have the single bucket one(would love the twin tub!!) i find it great in the summer just to wash undies and socks and the odd t shirt, they wash well you put the hot water in with the wash liquid better than powder and put the timer on it washes forward and in reverse, empty water out (lid has drain holes) and refill with rinsing water, then just ring out the clothes, , great for small bits to be done,it doesn't take loads of clothes(well i try to cram too many t shirts in !!!), and a good blowy day to dry, sometimes i leave to soak over night then do the wash in the morning,, best to do in the awning as not to get too much water every where, i only use it during the summer months don't use during the winter months when we are away
