ALSO HEARD TODAY, FROM WHERE WE BOUGHT OUR CARAVAN FROMAVONDALE HAS CEASED TRADING! WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH OUR 2YEAR OLD CARAVAN NOT SURE HOW OUR WARRANTY STANDS!!!!!
OMG! I just left a message on Caravan heading, asking the same thing. Ours is due for its second service end of October, few snags going on, that we thought we'd leave till its service. Ours is a 2007 (bought end of October). I'm absolutely pig sick.
My local service workshop said in a public notice that they're trying to honour warranty work, but I'll have to ring them in the morning about our van. Here's hoping they do it, otherwise we're screwed.
from my local dealer where i git mine from which is also a 2007 model the warranty is void and i dont have one any more, but the people i bought the van from the putting together a new warranty package that will cost £200 to take out
hi karen, i live in Swansea and also own an avondale which i bought from Pyle its also a 2007 model and not sure where i stand with the warranty. i would be gratefull if you do get any futher info i would be gratefull if you would share it, may i ask where you bought your van from.
Hi Avonman, answered your reply on the other thread! I wonder what Carafit would charge for a warranty (I said in the other reply that they are considering doing one)
Ahh well, I suppose it won't make a lot of difference to us as our Avondale is a 1995. I do feel sorry for people with new vans though and also the people who have lost their jobs at this difficult time.
OH is wondering if there's any point getting ours serviced this year. We only "had" 12 months warranty left and its permanently sited. He was thinking we could get it serviced every other year, to save a couple of quid.
I originally said I would get it serviced annually even outside the warranty to keep the resale value up, but if the water-ingress warranty has gone down the drain then it would be impossible to sell it anyway - even if we wanted to.
