Hi
In answer to your questions
1. The Leisure industry
2. One of the main things an ombudsman can do is make a descision re who is at fault and make the party responsable put it right this is not always the case with trading standards they tend to take a more laid back and advisory policy unless it is dangerous
3. Now your getting rediculous an ombudsman can cover a broad range from tents through to motorhomes for example Leisure Ombudsman
In conclusion I find that your comments make me believe you must work for a dealer or manufacturer in the Leisure industry. If everyone takes the same apathetic view as yourself then nothing will get done to protect consumers
There are a lot of people out there that have had or do have problems re their tent.caravan.motorhome I for one have heard of horrendous stories even after approaching trading standards and end up with no help whatsoever you wouldnt get away with it if it was a car so whats the difference. The big difference is some of our products cost more than a car but the industry lacks teeth to protect consumers
That is why we do not have tolls in Scotland anymore because we fight for it I therefore now will approach this from a differrent angle for example Caravan club etc thank you all for your time
regards
Don
