We were lucky enough to win a couple of tickets to the Caravan and Motorhome Show in Shropshire this year from the UK Campsite competition.
We only arrived on Saturday as my wife is a freelance writer and only got back from London that day. I brought the caravan down and went back to collect her. I had a quick wander round the stalls and ‘entertainment’ and to be honest, was not very impressed. This was supposed to be the caravan and motorhome show but did I see any caravan dealers or accessory retailers?
The pitch I was given was level enough, being part of the showground but the lack of electricity hook-up was unfortunate for me as my 12v supply died en route! The water supply could have been more handy but at least it was quiet away from the show itself.
We love the scenery around Shropshire and while we were disappointed with the show, we were not let down by the local attractions. In fact, after the show finished on the Sunday, we moved on to another site near Bridgnorth and stayed another few days.
The next show either needs to be renamed as the Motorhome Show or to at least include some caravan dealers and accessories or at least, a stand from the Caravan Club.
Conclusion - I was not impressed by the show and it’s total bias toward motorhome owners but we love Shropshire so came out with a bonus after all.
