What is it powered by Fiona? Will it be noisy in use?

It's basically a large Lithium battery bank, powered by LiFePO4 cells - obviously it's silent, other than a small cooling fan. You charge it at home on the mains, via 12v or solar panels, and can use it to power 240v, and 12v items, or to recharge your main leisure battery fully several times. Basically similar to a petrol generator without the noise or fuel.

Yes, it's pretty heavy!!! which is a downside, but a side effect of all that power storage.

Ideal in a power cut, like the one after the recent storm when people in rural areas were without power for up to a week.
We unpacked it this afternoon and it does take two of us to lift it. Impressive piece of kit.

I enjoyed taking part, but always bear in mind I have only ever won anything on 2 occasions in life. A box of cigars and an ashtray. Not much use to me as I am a strict non smoker. But that is typical of my luck.

Perhaps Ratty would include a folding trolly as a prize for this year's Advent Calendar, and that you would win it for use with the beast that is your power bank!

Prize update: I decided very quickly that in fact it IS possible to own too many tents and sought to pay this prize forward. I was rebuffed by organisations supporting Ukraine and have instead gifted it to CIC in Cumbria that primarily support UK Forces veterans & their families in respect of promoting improved mental health with eco-therapy type camps and retreats. 👊🏼

We had a local aid centre for Ukraine, they now have a tent from us, dog food, quite a few other things.

Somewhat late in the year I realise... but, I did thank Ratty and Lovat Park directly, and had a lovely time staying there in June. We ended up in a static caravan and paid for an extra night as the weather was good. It was a much needed break and the 'win' came as a huge surprise and felt rather overwhelmed. We'd had a significant and long-impacting family trauma in August 2021 leading to my MIL's death in January after a 6 month stay in ICU and an inquest. Cornwall in sunshine was a delight although OH worrying about a work decision took a little edge off but nevertheless, the sea did it's magic. I fell in love with the Treyarnon Bay rockpool, I felt like a mermaid. Thank you for a little bit of sparkle.
