Just want to say “thank you” to the UKCS folks for organising this. It’s nice when winners acknowledge their luck. Not all do.

Well, that might be because they're unaware of this thread? I've contributed to UKCS message forums for years but this is the first time I've seem this thread (or one like it).

Pretty sure I was aware of this thread in previous years, certainly for this year's competition from the get go, but really no excuse for the prize winners, a direct link to post is in the email notifying you of your win (I won a prize so got the email!), as instructed, to both confirm that the email was genuine AND give opportunity to comment/say thanks!

Always seems so mean spirited not to say thanks for such substantial prizes that have not cost you a bean to enter for ..... but then good manners and thoughtfulness seem only to exist with us dinosaurs these days!

Slightly off topic of prizes, but demonstration of modern rudeness, stood at bar in pub last Thursday, another old chap also waiting, barmaid approached me and asked what I'd like, I proffered that the other chap was there before me and should be served first, he said thanks but already being served, then commented that no one does that any more, it's everyone for themselves, then thanked me again for being considerate! Sad times.

Back to my prize, word has spread outside of UKC circles, and most folks think I'm a lucky beggar to win such a substantial prize AND for free entry, they appreciate it too, never occurred to me NOT to say thanks to all concerned in a post somewhere, and this post was ready made for the job.

Well.
Winners are told by email that they’ve won. I know, having been in the lucky position a few years ago. I was politely asked to acknowledge my win on the forum and was happy to do so. Seems some winners do & some don’t, hence my comment. Webmaster posts the winner daily on this thread.
UKCS posts an invitation to sign up in order to take part to win (obviously); there’s a daily reminder each day.

I love the UKCampsite Advent Calendar, a bit of camping excitement during my non camping season.

Had I one one of the Cobb ovens I wouldn’t have needed to post here, you would have heard my shouts of glee throughout the land!

Happy New Year everyone, and happy camping until Advent Calendar’24!

Apologies for the delay in posting, I'd blame it on technical issues, but I'll be honest, it was just Christmas distractions

You will have seen the 24th Advent Calendar winner was drawn on Christmas morning, and the lucky winner was "Sonygeezer" - they won a set of HandiRack Inflatable Roof Bars (pictured)

HandiRack is the world's first inflatable roof rack. Simple to use, can carry loads of 80kg and creates less drag and noise than normal roof bars, and can be fitted and removed in just minutes

This prize was supplied by HandiWorld We have arranged an exclusive UKCampsite.co.uk Member Discount for their HandiHoldall soft car roof box, HandiRack inflatable roof rack and the CAMBA Moova multi-terrain sack truck - get 10% off Everything when quoting the code HWUKC at the checkout, and get free delivery on all orders over £50.00

The Christmas Day Star Prize was also drawn, and you've probably already checked out the winner on the Advent Calendar page, but we'll do an "offical post" shortly!

Cheers

Ian
