Company Profile Award-winning breakdown cover from GEM Motoring Assist. GEM offers a fully comprehensive breakdown recovery service with personal cover. This means you are covered, as a driver or passenger, in any of your vehicles. So you're covered for: Car breakdown Caravan breakdown Motorhome and small trailer breakdown Their 24/7 UK breakdown cover includes: Roadside assistance If you break down more than a quarter of a mile from home we will carry out emergency repairs to get you going. If we are unable to do this nor find a local repairer to carry out the work speedily we will recover you to any one UK destination of your choice. Nationwide Recovery If we are unable to arrange a repair of your vehicle at or close to the breakdown scene we will recover you, the vehicle and up to 7 passengers to any one UK destination of your choice. Home assistance If your car will not start or breaks down at or within a quarter mile of your home we will either repair it there or if that is not possible take it to the nearest appropriate garage. ( For members with our RECLAIM scheme a maximum of £70 is allowed for Home Assistance. The current average claim for such assistance is £54.17) Onward travel If you break down more than 25 miles from home and repairs can’t be carried out that day we can assist with onward travel or overnight accommodation up to the value of £200.
