Description:
Conway Crusader (aka Pennine Pathfinder) 2009. Canvas replaced Spring 2022 with a brand new set (manufactured by the renowned awning firm, Isabella, in fully breathable acrylic) comprising not just main camper body but also bedroom inner tents, ceiling liner, under-bedroom skirts, and full awning with lightweight poles; gas springs replaced 2024; all genuine Pennine spares. Last full service (including gas, electrics, running gear, etc) summer 2023. Pics available.
Top of the range 6-berth folding camper, identical layout to modern Pennine Pathfinder. Gas oven, grill and 3-ring hob, running hot (electric) and cold water, 3-way fridge and cassette toilet in a cubicle with a full-height door. King-size bed at one end, and a double bed at the other, with a further double bed which can be made up from the dinette seats. The table (with folding legs) isnt in any of the photographs, but is part of the sale and in good condition. Two side lockers, cupboards, drawers, and half-height wardrobe. Mains hookup with external 3-pin socket; 2 x mains sockets inside, and also 2 x 12V cigarette lighter sockets. Motor mover.
Selling since the children have all grown up, and we are downsizing - somewhat reluctantly since we loved having all the space this summer! We bought it in 2020 and have fixed all of the issues which matter; this listing tells you everything we know about the state of the unit, warts and all. Here are the things which are imperfect:
Around the toilet:
- drop-down sink cracked; cosmetic issue (rather than a leak), repaired but still clearly visible
- the plastic around the sink has yellowed somewhat
- the original light has been removed; replaced with a nighttime movement-sensing one
- one wall of the cubicle, which has a folding top section, was damaged by the previous owners; weve filled this with wood filler
Other issues:
- main sink unit is slightly knocked on one corner
- external door for the battery is quite rough inside, but secure and fine from the outside; however the lock broke, and having failed to find the exact right size to replace it, we now open and close the door using a fat flat-bladed screwdriver
- one button for the cover elastic is missing (on the door)
- 2023 service showed some damp just alongside the battery box, likely down to poor sealant around the battery box door; weve re-sealed that area and theres been no evidence that the damp is a problem; otherwise damp readings were all good
- tyres are technically out of date (according to trailer manufacturer recommendations) but are still in good condition and weve seen no reason to change them
What weve replaced / repaired:
- gas springs for bedrooms (2024) *
- light over sink replaced with LED version incorporating hi-capacity USB charging socket (2023)
- high-capacity battery (2023)
- canvas, including awning (with lightweight poles) and curtains (2022) *
- trailer cover (2022) *
- water connectors for kitchen unit (2020) *
