We run 3 really busy family campsites in the New Forest which operate over May half-term and July and August.
Although, experience is preferred, a friendly and helpful personality is essential.
This job could suit school leavers and university students on a summer break who want to earn well in the summer holidays.
The main role for the Camping Assistant is to help with all aspects of campsite life, helping with the smooth running of the campsite and assisting the Site Manager/Warden as and where needed.
Responsibilities:
• Involved in all aspects of running the campsite, setting up and taking down the campsite, organising the shop, preparing the kitchen area, setting up the bell tents, etc.
• Cleaning and maintenance of all campsite amenities (showers/loos, kitchen area, change over days of bell tents etc)
• Making and selling coffees, drinks, ice creams, croissants, pizza, and firewood
• Manning reception - meet and greet campers, answer any queries, take orders for firepits, wood, etc
• Making sure the Bell Tents are organised, clean and tidy ready for new arrivals. This includes changing the bedding and making up the beds, making sure the furniture is in the correct place, that rugs are well swept and tidy, that all kitchen utensils are cleaned and put away in the correct places, cleaning the camping stove, possible ironing. You need to be able to spot what needs doing, paying attention to detail to ensure that the Bell Tents look as luxurious as the guests expect them to.
Experience/skills:
• Passion for the outdoors - understanding the importance of responsible camping
• Reliable with fun and energetic attitude
• Management experience in the hospitality or tourism sector preferred.
Barista experience useful.
• Excellent customer service and being able to cope in busy periods
• Full clean drivers licence required due to remote location
• Local to Fordingbridge/Ringwood/ Christchurch
• Flexible availability - late May-early June and then July to end August. Need to be able to commit to weekends for the whole season
