Hillandale Caravan Parks is a family run holiday park business with high quality parks in England and Wales. Three of the parks; Borders Hideaway, Hay-on-Wye Caravan Park and Stay on Wye are located near the charming town of Hay-on-Wye.
We require a Warden Couple to assist the Hay-on-Wye and Borders Hideaway Park Managers in the day to day running of the parks. Both parks offer owner occupied static caravan holiday homes, seasonal pitches and touring and camping pitches. Hay-on-Wye also offers a Shepherd Hut for hire.
Warden responsibilities include (but are not limited to): general park maintenance, gardening, cleaning of the washrooms, sales stock, park buildings & Shepherds Hut, holiday home siting, pitch development, reception duties, phone cover, touring bookings and showing visitors to their pitches, holiday home sales assistance (on the park managers days off), etc.
Wardens will reside at Stay on Wye (which is currently under development) and will be responsible for grounds maintenance, managing park security, and overseeing contractors when they are on park. Typically, Wardens will spend up to a day per week maintaining Stay on Wye during summer (and less during winter) and the rest of the time between Borders Hideaway and Hay-on-Wye.
Both applicants must hold a full driving licence.
Working Hours
1 x full time Park Warden & 1 x Park Warden with varied hours, depending on the time of year. Both positions are permanent.
Full time warden hours: 5-6 days per week, depending on workload and park manager holidays.
Varied hours warden: As we operate in the tourism industry there will be more work in the summer months and less during the winter months:
SUMMER MONTHS - typically, 40-50 hours per week.
WINTER MONTHS - typically, 25-35 hours per week.
Weekend and bank holiday work will be necessary.
Park Wardens cover the park managers days off and holidays, so flexibility is required.
Remuneration
£11.30 per person per hour, raising to circa £12.00 from 1st April 2024.
Rent free two bedroom accommodation is provided. Water usage is free. Electricity and gas usage chargeable. The Warden accommodation is located at Stay on Wye (Glasbury).
Start date: during March 2024 or as as soon as mutually agreeable.
