THE ASHES CARAVAN SITE AND SHEPHERDS HUTS
CARAVAN SITE
Small very well-kept adult only touring park with fantastic views of surrounding Cumbrian fells.
Popular with those seeking peace & relaxation but also handy for all the attractions of both The Lake District & The Yorkshire Dales.
The site enjoys views of grazing sheep on the hills, dairy cows & frequent sheepdog training by the farmer in a nearby paddock.
Immaculate heated facilities block including free hot showers & less-abled private washroom.
All pitches are fully serviced with water, waste water and 16amp electric hook up. All have hardstandings. Awning or non awning pitches available.
Free WiFi wireless internet to all pitches. Boosted wireless TV signal with 50+ digital channels included in your pitch fee.
If available, we offer seasonal pitches to be occupied from the 1st March until the 31st October at very reasonable rates - please contact for further details.
Well-behaved dogs very welcome. Many lovely country walks directly from the site & also includes a small doggy exercise area.
SHEPHERDS HUTS
(Sorry, no pets allowed in the huts)
Our adult only huts, ‘The Herdwick shepherds hut' and ‘The Swaledale shepherds hut' are bespoke designed and crafted. Sleeping two adults each, these two self contained huts provide everything you need for a relaxing break
With your comfort being our main priority, each hut contains a sleeping area, bathroom and a fitted kitchen equipped with all the essentials. In the kitchen area, you will find a kettle and toaster, sink, double hob, microwave and fridge with small freezer compartment and all your utensils, cutlery and crockery. If you prefer not to sit at the dining table, double doors lead on to an outside decking area where you will find a bistro table and chairs for al fresco dining or you could also choose to relax by the chiminea and use the gas BBQ provided for those summer nights watching the sunset.
A sofa which extends into a standard size double bed gives you all the comfort and relaxation you need as you wake up to nothing but the sounds of the countryside and local farm animals. Duvets, sheets and pillows are NOT provided and all guests are reminded to bring these for their stay.
Your own en suite bathroom includes a toilet, wash basin and shower. Towels are NOT provided.
Outside, you will find your own BBQ and private shed which can be used for storage, or as an ideal place to store bikes or keep coats and muddy boots.

Owner Directions
From M6 junction 37 follow the A684 towards Kendal for 2 miles, immediately after white cottage turn left at cross-roads, sign posted "New Hutton". Site is situated on the right in 3/4 mile. Only follow these directions from M6 as Sat Nav can be inaccurate. (Warning! Some Sat Navs tell you to turn left at the village hall leading into a narrow cul-de-sac, ignore this and follow 'The Ashes' signs on your right a bit further along the road).
From Kendal follow A684 towards Sedbergh for 3 miles to same cross-roads and turn right, just past bus shelter on right.
Only approach and depart via A684.
