Sands Caravan and Camping is situated on the beautiful North West coast of Scotland. It is an ideal location for families of all ages where you can enjoy a a very active holiday or indeed a relaxing break taking in the stunning views of the Isle of Skye and the Outer Isles.
The award winning beach is a stone's throw over the dunes with gentle shelving sea. Longa Island provides some shelter from rough seas and with a concrete slipway for boat launching on site, it is a great location for all sorts of water sports.
There is a variety of accommodation on offer with fully serviced caravan holiday homes, camping pods or bring your own caravan, tent or motorhome for the holiday of your choice.
The caravan and camping park is run on an informal basis, the site is divided into two main areas one for camping and one for caravans. Giving you the freedom to choose your own spot anywhere in the camping or caravan area.
Whether you choose a sheltered spot amongst the sand dunes or a spot with a view across the Minch, the choice is yours, on our 55 acre site.
Wherever you set up, our award winning beach is a stones throw away. The only restriction we enforce is that you keep a distance of at least 7 metres from your neighbour.
Facilities on site include:
• Three heated toilet and shower blocks, providing ample facilities.
• Disabled facilities.
• 150 electric hook ups, dotted about in caravan and camping area.
• Chemical toilet disposal point.
• Purpose built Motorhome service point
Next to the reception we have a licensed grocery shop selling freshly baked bread, newspapers, groceries, caravan and camping equipment, toys, books, camping and calor gas, really most things you need for your holiday.
Shop hours during July to mid August are 8.30am - 8.00pm, during quieter months the shop will be open 9am - 6pm.
There is also a fully licensed restaurant and takeaway hut on site which is open for breakfast, lunch and evening meals every day.
On site there is a laundry with 4 washing machines, 4 dryers and an iron - all coin operated.

Dogs are welcome on the site provided they are kept on a lead and dogs faeces picked up.
A speed limit of 10 mph must be adhered to at all times throughout the site.

Nearby Attractions
Sands Caravan and Camping is a fantastic holiday detination for exploring the best of the North West Highlands. The West Coast is known for its scenic beauty and a short drive will take you to Beinn Eighe National Nature reserve.
The Internationally renowned Inverewe gardens is only 9 miles away. There are many excellent walks of varied lengths with magnificent views ideal for spotting birds and wildlife.
Gairloch itself has much to offer with all the usual amenities and ample restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes. Things to do: sea angling, wildlife cruises, horse riding, golf, leisure centre, museum.
