Please note: During 2024 we will be re-structuring the business and have no touring pitches available.
Woodside Ridge Caravan Park is a family run business situated approximately 7 miles South East of Durham City opened in 2011. We have 2 drinking water taps, a chemical disposal point, pot-wash area, toilet & shower facilities and small shop in reception. There is a small play area for younger children and access to neighbouring woodland and fishing pond.
There are 22 pitches, 2 of which are non electric.
We provide a rural retreat from which to discover some of the many and varied attractions here in the North East of England or indeed an ideal location for a short break during those longer journeys to or from Scotland.
Conveniently situated midway between the A1(M) and the A19, we are only approximately 1 mile from the main A181, which links the two major roads, so getting here couldn`t be easier.
We are open from 1st March to 7th January for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents.
All dogs must be well behaved, sociable with people and other dogs. They are to be kept on leads whilst on site.
Durham City is not to be missed, the panoramic view of the Cathedral and Castle has been described as "one of the finest architectural experiences of Europe".
Beamish is another not to be missed attraction; remember to leave at least a full day to appreciate the "living museum of the north".
The Angel Of The North is a contemporary sculpture, designed by Antony Gormley, located in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England. Completed in 1998, it is the largest sculpture in Britain. The work faced considerable opposition during its design and construction phases, but is now widely recognized as an iconic example of public art and as a symbol of Gateshead and of the wider North East.
The Golden Beaches at South Shields, which stretch from the mouth of the Tyne for more than a mile are the "crowning glory" of this vibrant seaside resort.
From A1(M) take exit 61 and follow signs for Peterlee, from A19 take A181 for Durham.
From the A181 turn south at the "Pit Pony" roundabout onto the B1278 and follow signs for Kelloe.
Carry straight on at Wingate Lodge, where the B1278 turns left (you will see our Caravan Park Brown Sign). When you see the sign for Kelloe Law Farm on your right get ready, we are only another 300 metres on your left immediately after the woods.
If your Sat-Nav doesn`t recognise our postcode, TS29 6NT will get you to Wingate Lodge.
