Inver Caravan Park is a licenced site. It has been an STB **** Touring Park.
Inver Caravan Park is an excellent stop-over on the way to Orkney, or use it as a base for cliff-climbing, hillwalking, fishing, relaxation or for exploring the far north. It is right on the NC500 route, and excellent as a stop-over.
It has nearly an acre of smooth grass, 10 hard standings and 14 hook-ups.
We have excellent fibre-optic wifi available all over the site, which is free to use.
Our facilities block has underfloor heating, 3 private shower rooms with power showers, a bathroom with shower over the bath, one extra WC, a hairdryer, a dishwashing area and laundry with sink, washing machine and iron. There is an excellent drying room guaranteed to dry clothes overnight. We have a dump station for waste water and chemical toilet disposal, and recycling facilities. Motorhomes which are `wild camping` can dump and fill here for £10 cash.
There are beautiful views over Dunbeath Bay and the Moray Firth. The Dunbeath Strath walk, leading to and beyond the Broch, is within half a mile, and is well worth the walk, being beautiful and interesting. Or you can walk down to the harbour and beach, exploring the cave and close-up views of Dunbeath Castle.
We welcome all caravans and motorhomes of any size, cars, vans, motorbikes, walkers and cyclists. Motorhomes must book hard standings as we do not allow motorhomes on grass pitches. Arrive late if you need to - it`s not a problem, but let us know if you will arrive after 6pm.
We also have 2 static holiday caravans for hire, for 3 or more days. One sleeps up to 4 people, the other up to 7 people. They both have gas central heating and are very well equipped. All you need to bring is your food - everything else is provided.
Both statics, and pitches on the caravan park, must be booked online from our website
Nearby Attractions
In Dunbeath are an excellent Heritage Centre and the Laidhay Croft Museum. Nearby are cliffs and sea-stacks for the climbing enthusiast, lots of marine and birdlife - even puffins, and beautiful walks up the Dunbeath Strath.
Caithness has numerous archaeological sites, and the Castle of Mey is within easy reach. We are 38 miles from John o` Groats, which makes it a good stop-over for cyclists and walkers.
We are within easy reach of the `John o` Groats Trail`, the cliff-top walking trail from Inverness to John o`Groats, so we make a useful stop-over for walkers, who do not need to book and can stay here at a discounted rate.
Only 400 yards down the road (easy walking distance) is a pub and restaurant `The Bay`, booking recommended in the summer and at weekends (Tel 01593 731356).
