You are going to love it here at Wolford Wood it is super relaxed. ‘Leave no trace is the motto at Wolford Wood set in 200 acres of paddocks and trees, you`re sure to have no problem wanting to do your bit to protect the local landscape…
The wood is Ancient and has coppice stands over 500 years old. That means man was felling trees here over 500 years ago! An Historic Site of Special Scientific Interest. A rare English deciduous woodland home to 2,501* different species of flowers, fungi and fauna.
This is a blissful place to switch off and just under a mile from the junction of three counties: Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.
Camping:
The camping pitches are not assigned and you can select where you want to pitch your tent in the paddock or shaded in the wood. We do not have electric hook-ups and do not allow caravans, camper-vans or motor-homes on site.
Off ground fires and BBQs are welcome
Campers have access to hand basins, the toilet and shower block and outside kitchen. Toilet roll and hand soap is provided.
There`s no parking next to tent pitches here, but parking is available nearby.
Cabins:
We have three cabins available to hire comprising of the double occupancy Avalon Cabins, sleeping up to 5 people and Woodmans cabin, which comfortably sleeps 6. Bedding, blankets and towels are provided. Our quirky accommodation offers a unique experience in a woodland setting.
Cabins come with their own private shower, covered, fully equipped kitchen, seating area and fire pit- perfect for lazing into the summer evenings with campfire and bird song.
A separate, gated "fortress field" close to the cabins can also be booked for groups with additional campers to accommodate.
The site:
In the Heart of but technically on the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the setting makes an excellent base for exploring locally.
Or there`s 3 miles of tracks to explore and rag around in. Making dens with the kids, chatting with friends next to one of the fire pits (logs and large fire pits are available at the park from £6) or just getting lost on pretty paths and tracks.
Please note this is a genuinely wild wood and tracks are uneven and caution should be taken when walking on the land.
During ambles, bring a picnic along made up of bits and bobs from the deli in Moreton-in-Marsh or Shipston; off the ground BBQ`s are welcome.
There`s a public swimming pool and gym The Fire Service College (a three drive. ten minute cycle or 20 minute walk).
We regularly host events and activities on site for our visitors and guests to enjoy. Please see our website for details
Guests are also asked to take their rubbish home with them and no single-use plastic is to be brought into the woods.
