Ye Olde Wheelwrights is situated on the edge of the Dorset / Wiltshire border, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the village of Ludwell
The site rests in a peaceful and viewsome location, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the pretty village of Ludwell.
There are five grass pitches with individual electric meters, ideal for both tents and touring vehicles of varying sizes.
Standard amenities include a toilet block, hot showers, a washing-up area, freshwater points, and recycling.
Undercover ‘washing-up facilities now available.
Dogs are welcome to tag along.
In the nearby village of Donhead St Andrew, we have a 17th century pub The Forester serving delicious home cooked food, its dog friendly and attracts local walkers and cyclists.
Also, there`s a local shop with a post office, butchers and farm shop.
There`s a main bus route situated at the end of the road running regularly every 1.5hours taking you to Salisbury, Shaftesbury and through the Chalke Valley.
Nearby Attractions
Our location is central to many tourist attractions and main routes (20 minutes from the A303, 15 minutes from the train station in Tisbury, 30 minutes from Stonehenge and many local fisheries, 45 minutes away from beaches including the famous Jurassic Coast, Studland and Sandbanks.
Shaftesbury, famed for its Gold Hill, rests an ideal 1.5 miles from the village
Many popular events on the campsites doorstep including The Larmer Tree Festival & Berwick St John Country Fayre.
The stunning Compton Abbas Airfield recently taken over by Guy Ritchie is a stones throw away to enjoy the view, walk and a bite to eat at.
