Opening Dates next year: 20/04/2025 to 31/10/2025
A family friendly campsite, idyllic beach location, and picturesque views, with shower and toilet facilities on site for all campers to use.
Our Camping pitches are open from Easter to October annually, for short or long stays.
On arrival, please check in at the farmhouse before you enter the campsite, where you will receive a warm Welsh welcome from one of the Davies family members.
All new arrivals can check in after 1:00pm. We ask that all campers depart before 11:00am. on their departure day.
For those that have not paid in advance payment is made on arrival by either card or cash.
Cae Du has ample facilities with a toilet block centrally located between the two camping fields with hot water, showers that operate by a £1 coin, and hair dryers.
There is also a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, 2 freezers (ideal for your ice blocks) and the washing up sink has the most incredible view - you wont mind doing the dishes here! Drinking water is available at various points throughout the site.
Campfires are permitted with the stone fire pits and on the beach (but please do not take stones from the walls). No loud music is permitted. Fire wood can be bought at the farm for £6 a bundle. Also available are the farms own Welsh lamb burgers.
Its about 2 miles to the nearest train station on foot and from there you can travel along the Cambrian coast with a choice of towns and villages to stop at.
The 28 bus service by Lloyds coaches passes the entrance of the campsite which can take you to the nearest town of Tywyn or further afield to Dolgellau, if you wish to travel to Machynlleth or Aberystwyth the X28 can be caught 4 miles away at Llanegryn.
The seaside town of Tywyn is the closest place to get your amenities and groceries, with a Co-op a Spar, a Bakery, Post Office and Petrol Station. It also has a newly refurbished cinema; The Magic Lantern, an activities park with a putting green, crazy golf and tennis courts, a Leisure centre with fitness gym and indoor pool without forgetting the famous Talyllyn Railway and Dolgoch Falls.
Recycling: All new arrivals will be given a recycling bag, please recycle what you can and put it in the large recycling bins, located opposite the toilet block.
Dogs: We welcome dogs but they must always be kept on a lead and all dog fouling must be cleared immediately and deposited in the wheelie bin. £2 per dog per night. Maximum of 2 dogs per booking.
Music: The volume of radios, CD players etc must always be kept low, especially after 10pm.
Lamb Burgers: We sell our own welsh Lamb Burgers - please enquire at the farmhouse if you would like to purchase some.
Local area information: Can be found in the utility on the campsite. Plenty of leaflets and suggested walking routes.
We allow our campers to choose their own pitch, however we do ask that you park your car in front of your tent.

Nearby Attractions
There are plenty of things to do close to the campsite; take a walk along the coastal path, or bike along the enchanting Mawddach Trail following the course of the estuary along the disused railway from Morfa Mawddach to Barmouth or Dolgellau.
You can cycle from the campsite to the closest village of Rhoslefain, turning right towards Tonfannau and over a newly built bridge (for walkers, cyclists and horse riders) to Tywyn or a circular route can be completed. Near Tonfannau is the mouth of the river Dysynni, known locally as the Broad water, an ideal place to kayak and take in the valley views.
If you wish to sea kayak - that can be done from the campsite! Half a mile north of the campsite is a quaint church called Llangelynnin where the famous Welsh Gypsy, Abram Wood was buried in 1799, and is well worth a visit to see the murals on the interior walls.
Information and leaflets regarding local attractions can be found in the utility room on the campsite - or ask the owners .
