Camping Le Clos Castel is an English owned, family run campsite. Owned by a British Army veteran with nearly 30 years service we offer a real insight into the D-Day `to-do` list for the enthusiast. We are within easy reach of the ports of Cherbourg, Caen, St Malo and Le Havre.
Perfectly situated 15 minutes from Carentan enabling you to discover the beautiful area of Normandy as well as being in the heart of the D-day landing beaches and museums.
Electric Hookup Pitches:
Similar to a UK C.L. site at Camping Le Clos Castel we have 6 gravelled pitches, each complete with a grassed area for awnings. All pitches have access to electric hook-up.
Non EHU Pitches:
Our tent camping field with no electric hookup is set slightly apart from the caravan pitches but still close to all facilities. The grass is kept short and the campers will never feel crowded.
Facilities:
There are toilet and shower facilities, a pot washing area and bio toilet disposal point for units using environmentally friendly chemicals. (This can be provided on site for no extra charge.)
We are happy to accept pets as long as they remain on a lead. A local vet in the nearby village is capable of dealing with the necessary treatment for your return to the UK.
At Camping Le Clos Castel you will find us friendly and helpful and as fellow campers we will endeavour to meet your needs.
Bed and Breakfast:
The large, imposing stone farmhouse sits in over 5 acres with a large front garden for B&B guests to enjoy. The bed & breakfast accommodation is complemented with period features and furnishings, less for the all-new superking double beds.
Year-Round Caravan Storage:
At Le Clos Castel we offer year round caravan storage at very competitive rates. We also offer a discount code to be used on Brittany Ferries when travelling to visit or holiday in your caravan.
Our storage area is a gravelled compound to the rear of our property, covered 24/7 by closed circuit surveillance cameras. The compound is mounded on all sides with security drop posts to the entrance. You have the added security of knowing there is always someone in residence, as we always have someone on site when we take a vacation. You can have full access to your van all year round

Owner Directions
From Cherbourg follow the signs for Caen (N13) continue on the N13 until Carentan. At Carentan follow the signs for Periers on the D971. You will pass by Sainteny. Continue on the D971 until you reach Raids. As you pass by the church at Raids (stay on the main road) you will find Le Clos Castel 400m after the church (white and red bollards at either side of the road). Take the right down the lane at the side of the B&B after 100m you will see the entrance to Camping Le Clos Castel on your right. When approaching from Caen follow the signs for Cherbourg until you pick up the N13 then follow the directions as above.
