The Hideaway is a small, relaxed and friendly campsite (WITH PROPER CAMPFIRES!) in the heart of North Yorkshire, that offers you chilled out Camping and Glamping that's in-tune with nature and doesn't cost the Earth. There are just 40 pitches in a 6 acre field,which nestles in the midst of our 110 acre farm, surrounded by trees and bounded on one side by a stream. It is off the beaten track, but only a stroll from the village pub and bus stop.

The Hideaway@Baxby is a special, peaceful and restful place where you can spend precious days away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A haven for walkers and cyclists, and a perfect base for exploring the many historic, cultural and outdoor attractions of this lovely part of Yorkshire.
We are about camping, the countryside and getting away from it all.
We have a strict no noise policy after 11pm so if you want to stay up late partying-this is NOT the site for you!
Office Hours: 9-11am & 2-6pm

As we are a small family-run campsite we do not have an army of staff taking reservations over the phone so please help us by checking availability & making your reservation via our website.

The variety of scenery around us provides endless possibilities for walking, cycling and touring - North to the vast dramatic open landscape of the North Yorkshire Moors; West to the green valley pastures of the Yorkshire Dales, beloved of our famous local vet - James Herriot - and Bronte Country; South through the rich farmlands of the Vale of York, to the City, with its glorious Minster, Jorvik Museum and the National Rail Museum; East to the Wolds and coast - picturesque fishing villages, Whitby old towns quaint streets, imposing cliff top Abbey and Dracula legend, plus the traditional seaside resorts of Scarborough and Filey.
A1/A19 to Thirsk, follow signs to York. Continue South on A19 ignoring first turn-off to Carlton Husthwaite and carrying on through village of Thormanby (on a hill), turning 2 miles on left signed Husthwaite and Coxwold. Entrance to Baxby Manor is 2 miles further on left opposite a cemetery and immediately before the village sign of Husthwaite. With Baxby Manor on your right follow lane round to the left bearing away from the manor after 150 meters turn left, site 150 meters on left over the stream.
From the South
Follow A19 North from York approx 15 miles, past Easingwold, turning is on right 1 mile past second Easingwold by-pass roundabout then above.
