The Secret Campsite is a peaceful, tents only campsite for nature lovers, real campers and their families, who are looking to explore Sussex, Brighton or Lewes.
Our woodland meadow camping pitches are large and secluded and come with their own camp fire pit.
We have recently built a new and very sustainable wash house with free hot showers, toilets flushed by rainwater and a washing up area with views into the trees.
We also have a number of unusual shelters where you can spend the night.
By keeping the meadow car and dog free we enable wildlife to flourish, and this increases the number of encounters that you and your family will enjoy. It also ensures that it is a safe place for children to roam freely and explore, and we have an area of woodland where dens can be built and trees climbed.
Owners of electric cars can charge their car using the Pod Point App. Our chargers are solar powered.
Theres a great farm shop 200 yds down the road, an on site shop for beer, ciders, ice lollies and hot drinks and a number of nearby village shops. You can order meatboxes when you book
We are located in a beautiful and sparsely populated part of East Sussex, and our camping meadow is enclosed by both private and public nature sites.
These include great stands of ancient and coppiced woodland, and a site of nature conservation interest, SNCI. This mosaic of habitats is incredibly rich in wildlife and The Secret Campsite is lightly managed to create an environment where wildlife can thrive.
The surrounding ancient woodland has been encouraged to advance at the edges of the camping meadow, which ensures an ever changing diversity of animals and plants for you to watch, hear, eat, smell and touch. Catch glimpses of deer, hunt for slow worms, wake to the dawn chorus, build dens or simply enjoy the unique flavours of fresh and foraged produce at the end of a busy day.
We also have three secret shelters, The Tree Tent, Okra and Gridshell. These are both fantastic quirky accommodation options for your stay in our beautiful site.
All of these beautiful shelters have been designed by local inventor and designer Jason Thawley and the Tree Tent and Okra were even featured on George Clarkes Amazing Spaces. Minm stay 2 nights / 3 nights Bank Holidays

Lewes is a historic and vibrant little town. With numerous independent shops, great little eateries and picturesque twittens, theres plenty of things to explore. Biking, walking or kayaking.
Malling Down nature reserve is well worth a visit too.
Brighton is easily accessible via train or bus from nearby Lewes. Explore its crazy mix of beach, independent shops, boutiques, attractions and culture.

South Downs National Park, Drusillas Zoo, Newhaven Fort,Royal Pavilion Brighton, Sussex Sea Voyages at Newhaven, Wakehurst Place, Seven Sisters Sheep Centre, Lewes Castle and Anne of Cleves House, Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park, Glyndebourne, Charleston, Middle Farm.
Take A275 heading north and 0.25 of a mile after the level crossing at Cooksbridge turn right at The Rainbow Inn. Stay on this road for 2 miles. After passing Holmansbridge Farm shop we are the 4th turning on the right hand side called Brickyard Farm.

Leave Chailey Green with Five Bells pub on your right side, and immediately after entering South Chailey, turn left onto Markstakes Lane. Follow this for 1 mile then take right turn onto Town Littleworth Road. After half a mile, take the next left after "White Lodge" into Brickyard Farm.
