Kippford View Holiday Park (formerly Barlochan Holiday Park) is placed on a wooded hillside in a wonderful rural location with magnificent views over the Urr Estuary on the Solway Coast.
The tranquillity of Kippford View makes it the ideal environment for a peaceful, relaxing caravan or camping holiday.
Great attention is given to the beautiful appearance of the Park with mature trees and an abundance of flowers and shrubs.
The local towns of Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie and Dumfries are all close by and the small village of Palnackie is a short walk from the Park itself, making Barlochan an ideal base for exploring.
For our campers there are grass pitches; some with electric hook up. These pitches are close to our toilet block which has a laundry facility and is near the childrens outdoor play area.
For our tourers, motorhomes and campervan visitors we have gravel and grass pitches with electric hook up. In 2017 we added our large serviced pitches with electric, TV hook up, water tap and waste water drain, which are situated around the large oak tree near the outdoor swimming pool and only a short walk to the toilet facilities.
Customers who have brought their canine friend with them have a short wooded dog walking area to enjoy. However, we ask that all dogs are kept on a lead in the park and surrounding area as some children and adults are scared of dogs. Please remember to pick up your dogs poo!
We`ve also introduced glamping pods to let on the park, sleeping up to 4 people.
Pods provide the comfort and freedom of camping without the hassle of bringing a tent. Each pod has heating, lighting, fridge, microwave, kettle and foam mattresses to sleep on. Outside there is timber decking with outdoor furniture and alongside parking space for your vehicle.
All you need to bring are your camping essentials, food, bedlinen, towels and tea towels. We ask our glamping visitors to stay a minimum of two nights. No pets and smoking are allowed.
The shop, toilet block and laundry facility is a short walk away. Wi-Fi is also available on the park.
Nearby Attractions
Barlochan has a delightful hillside setting which faces the Urr Estury and is surrounded by magical hills and forests which makes it one of the most peaceful and tranquil spots imaginable.
Barlochan is centrally placed for exploring the delights of Dumfries and Galloway.
Within walking distance is the small village of Palnackie with its Harbour, Restaurant, Village Inn, Glassblower and its wonderful little shop that sells all sorts of souvenirs`. In July the village hosts the World Flounder Tramping Championships along with car boot stalls and later on a dance in the village hall, an event not to be missed, a great day out for all the family.
