Description
Pitches: 40
Opening Dates next year: 01/03/2025 to 31/10/2025
Deanwood Caravan and Campsite is three miles from the main A48 Gloucester to Chepstow road.
It is within easy walking distance to where there are two pubs and two general stores supplying fresh food and supplies. The town of Lydney with its three supermarkets and a good selection of takeaways is also, only three miles away.
From March 2023 Deanwood Campsite has re-opened to include children over the age of three, however, we do ask all guests to be respectful of other campers who have come to enjoy the tranquillity. There is a large playing field with a football net.
The hard standing and grass pitches are mainly level or gently sloping, with panoramic views to the west over the Lyd Valley and beyond. The pitches are well spaced out. Altogether we have 40 pitches: 20 for caravans and motor homes all with electric hook up and 20 for tents (tent sites not open yet).
On site there are modern shower and toilet blocks, and a wash-up and laundry room, all free for our guests to use. Wifi is available.
Dogs (kept on leads within the grounds) are welcome, and with direct access into the Forest, there are miles of walks on the doorstep. This is an ideal campsite for those that love mountain biking in the forest.
Nearby Attractions
The Forest of Dean is a compact area brimming with activities and attractions for all ages. As well as miles of scenic footpaths, cycle paths and bridle ways, there are also numerous attractions to visit: caves & mines, castles & craft shops, Vineyards, Steam railways, Gardens & an Arboretum, Puzzlewood, Go Ape etc.
The Forest of Dean is wedged between the Rivers Severn and Wye, so water sports such as kayaking & canoeing are close by as well as boat rides.
The Severn Bore is a famous natural wonder well worth seeing.
The historical Market towns of Monmouth and Chepstow are a 20min drive away and the cities of Gloucester, Bristol and Bath are all under an hour away. Our local town of Lydney with shops, swimming pools & entertainment is 3 miles.
