Here at Petruth Paddocks, were all about live and let live. A place to escape the outside world and where the kids can roam free. A place for anybody and everybody who love the simple things in life. So if that sounds like you, come on down and well see you around the campfire
The perfect place for anyone and everyone who wants to get away from it all... Just 4 minutes drive, 15 footpath minute walk from the Gorge with outstanding views of the magnificent Mendip Hills.
Whatever you prefer:
Staying on site and chatting to friends Taking a stroll around the Somerset Levels Wandering up the Gorge Conquering The Mendips Visiting our many local attractions
Just imagine simply sitting round a campfire chatting into the small-hours with friends and a glass or two of your favourite tipple...
A warm welcome awaits you from Jules and the team.
Our Coffee Shack is open April - September at weekends and during the week in school holidays.
Whether you are a seasoned veteran or new to camping, you want to know that you are coming to a venue that is clean and safe, close enough to walk to local shops but far enough away to switch off from it all.
We provide the ideal base from which to enjoy your time away. The Strawberry line footpath runs straight from our entrance to the village and onto the Gorge and beyond.
We installed brand new toilets and showers in 2020/21 and have plenty of washing up sinks too!
We have: 28 individual toilet cubicles. Each cubicle has: Toilet, Basin, Hot & cold water, Mirror, Soap dispenser, Hand drier

Our water taps are spaced out around the fields with 25 electric hook ups. We ask for all rubbish to be separated and recycled.
We have created an activity area in the center of our Family field where your children are free to clamber on old cable reels, sleepers, tractor tyres and of course our old friend Mr Landy!
There are picnic benches for parents sit nearby and keep an eye on toddlers
Your dog is very welcome! When the site is not too busy we usually have a field you can use to let them off - just ask one of the team. If not, there are a number of lovely short walks direct from the site.
Petruth Paddocks is a place where anyone can rock up and feel right at home. From the couple in their expensive new motor home to a bunch of young lads in a £29.99 tent from Aldi. From Mum, Dad and a couple of kids to a big group of family and friends and everyone in between.
A live-and-let-live place where there are refreshingly few rules, kids can be kids, campfires are encouraged, music and bad singing are not a problem and people feel free to wander round making new friends.
Thats what we mean by free range camping - and we love it There are so many rules and regulations these days that kids have a really hard time just being kids.
Petruth Paddocks is a PC-free zone - they can run and shout, climb trees and hide in the hedges, take a ride on the back of the quad bike with Jules, get covered in dirt, make new friends and even scrape their knees.
All we ask is that you respect others and use your noddle when it comes to common sense.
