Description

This is an adults only site

Pitches: 50

Opening Dates this season:  14/03/2025 to 13/10/2025

Our campsite, for adults only, occupies an spacious, peaceful setting in a wooded valley in the Exmoor National Park in Somerset.

Set alongside the sparkling River Exe and Bridgetown watermill, the campsite has beautiful views, an abundance of wildlife and many footpaths leading from our doorstep. The campsite owners give tours of the watermill on most Sunday mornings.

It is a ideal location for camping and country lovers and is awarded 5 platinum pennants standard by the AA and 5 stars (gold award) by Visit England.

The carefully maintained campsite covers 4 acres of level grass between the River Exe and our own mill stream. 47 pitches have electric, water, drainage, and TV hook-ups, and there are 18 hard standings.

This allows every pitch to have ample space and enjoy its own section of the bank beside the fast flowing clear water of the river or the mill stream.

So far as possible we like campers to choose their pitch on arrival.

Electric and TV Hook-up
47 of our 50 pitches have hook-up available. There is 10 amps electric, and the TV is digital with some 24 channels and 6 radio stations. We can lend you a TV cable to extend from our box to your TV.

Dog Exercise Area
Our recreation area is 300 yards long, bordered by the River Exe and our mill stream, dogs may safely be let off lead, and can enjoy playing in the river.

Showers
The old milking parlour! Modern, spacious and powerful, heated in the colder weather, and with a hairdryer and washing cubicles for the ladies.

Toilets
Modern, panelled walls, and heated in the colder weather.

Disabled facilities
All-in-one toilet, shower (wet room), and wash basin with access ramps.

Laundry & dish wash
Also contains ironing board with iron, microwave and freezer block fridge.

Internet
The free service operates throughout the site and provides a good signal.

Site Shop
Not a supermarket, but contains a surprising variety of local food and things that you may need including alcohol. We also supply replacement cylinders for Calor Gas and Camping Gaz.

Reception
Will provide you with a ‘welcome drink` if you arrive at a sensible hour, and supply you with a map of the site together with a general information sheet.

Free Fly Fishing
We have 600 yards of the bank of the River Exe, where campers may compete with the kingfishers, herons and otters to catch brown trout and grayling. We recommend a short rod.

Information Room
Contains folders on local walks, local pubs, bus timetables, fishing, caravan repairs etc. We also have a wide variety of leaflets and local information, together with a small exchange library.

Out and About
The area is ideal for walking (easy or challenging), biking, or simply relaxing.

In the National Park you will find red dear, Exmoor ponies, unspoilt villages, National Trust properties and beautiful gardens. The scenic North Devon coast and Lorna Doone Valley are also within easy reach.

PLEASE SEE OUR WEBSITE FOR FULL INFORMATION.
