Small, friendly site for touring vans, tents and glamping with spectacular views over Mawddach Estuary and access to Mawddach cycle trail (via a steepish track).
We are in Snowdonia Dark Skies Reserve so the winter night skies can be awesome. Our touring pitches with hardstanding and electric and shepherd's huts are open from 1 March until early January. Tent camping 1 May - 30 September.
We are proud to have won Go North Wales Best Camping, Glamping, Caravan Site 2021. We've also featured in media including The Guardian's 10 Best Glamp sites and The Times Coolest Places to Camp, The Telegraphs Ten UK Camp Sites with Incredible Mountain Views.
We are in Snowdonia National Park with many walks directly from site including the popular Mawddach cycle Trail linking seaside Barmouth and historic Dolgellau (via a good pub about an hour and a half's walk). Campers can explore 40 acres of wild woodland and pasture leading to the estuary.
You can order fresh coffee and croissant on site for breakfast during peak season. We also sell a range of interesting Welsh craft beers and ciders as well as camping essential like firewood and marshmallows!
We have simple but very clean and newly refurbished washing facilities including 2 unisex showers and 4 conventional ladies and gents loos for the touring van site, 3 unisex showers and 2 compost loos for the tent camping field, and separate loos and showers for glampers.
We have 2 separate areas for camping - please ensure you pick the one suitable for you to avoid disappointment! We also have glamping options.
For campervans, small motorhomes or small caravans, our 6 pitch touring site is open from 1 March until 3 January. Each pitch is hard standing with optional electric hook up. The 2 Panorama pitches have the best views and can accommodate slightly larger motorhomes or caravans. There is a communal camp fire area. The showers are modern and free and we have added a covered washing up area with hot water and microwave for camper's use.
For tent campers, our lower tent camping fields are open from 1 May until 30 September - please see our website for details of whether this wilder area will suit you. There are no electric hook ups here and the pitches are few and far between to maintain the tranquil environment. Many have wonderful estuary views and there is more space than on the top part of the camp site. Each pitch has its own firepit and there are compost loos and three unisex hot showers on this level, with conventional loos, wash basins and more unisex showers several hundred metres walk up a steep hill. There are 3 pitches you can park next to in this area.
We have four yurts open March - October. Our two new wagons and shepherds hut are open until early January. They are well insulated with heating at either the flick of a switch or cosy woodburner. Ideal for camping in comfort in the Autumn and winter!
