how about wild camping in our meadow... bring your own tents & campervans and enjoy everything our lovely lake & valley have to offer - from £20 per adult and £10.00 per child per night
Wake up to the sound of birdsong, go swimming before breakfast in the clear water of a secluded lake. Cook your bacon and eggs over an open fire while you plan your day, or just laze it away in the peace and quiet of your own personal tipi. You can always go fishing tomorrow, and walk along the cliffs the day after that…
Staying in a canvas tipi with family or friends, living close to the earth and the rhythm of nature, is an extraordinary experience. Its a mixture of old fashioned camping in a beautiful place, with a very modern desire to be more environmentally friendly than just about any other holiday could be. This is the place to explore the landscape of your imagination, the place of your childhood dreams, where you first found adventure, where fish splash in the lake at dawn and sparks rise from your campfire at dusk.
CTH offers something for everyone: couples wanting a romantic break and families on a summer holiday, older campers not bothered by school terms, walkers, surfers, painters, bird spotters, university reunions and special birthday weekends. Its also perfect for grandparents with grandchildren, honeymooners, wedding anniversaries, fathers and sons, groups of girlfriends with children … we are always a huge hit with children from babies to independence.
Sorry, but we dont usually take stag parties, although every year the site sees at least one marriage proposal - and the answer always seems to be ‘yes!

At Tregildrans Quarry you are a five minute drive from some of the prettiest villages and most spectacular coastline in Cornwall. You can buy fresh mackerel, scallops and crab in the fish cellars at Port Isaac within 10 minutes of leaving your tipi, go sea kayaking under soaring cliffs at Port Quin or take a surfing class on Polzeaths trend setting shoreline.
We have some phenomenal walking right on our doorstep; the Cornwall Coastal Footpath, the Saints Way, but unfortunately a car is still usually needed to get you there. 15 minutes up the coast brings you to Tintagel Castle and the ancient village of Boscastle, and the same distance inland lets you walk the rugged solitude of Bodmin Moor.
