Opening Dates next year: 17/04/2025 to 22/10/2025
Five acre level field with adjacent three acre woodland amenity area for dog walking.
This site is all about a low impact experience and getting back to basics, offering an opportunity to re-connect with nature and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Situated in an area without light pollution, on clear nights you can stargaze, watch the International Space Station orbiting and see the Milky Way in its entirety. You'll hear owls, woodpeckers, red kits and buzzards and you may also be lucky enough to see curlews.
The immediate area offers good access to the Long Mynd, which rises to a height of 506m and is dissected by long valleys such as Minton Batch and Callow Hollow; this provides spendid walking and cycling country with fine views of the Welsh Border and beyond.
Recently built facilities block provides showers, toilets and washing up facilities with hot and cold water supply. The existing old toilet block will remain in situ providing additional facilities consisting of a cold water sink and 2 x WC/chemical disposal points. There is also a separate drinking water supply.
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO POWER SUPPLY.
Well behaved pets are welcome for a moderate charge and there is an adjacent area of amenity woodland for dog walking but please clean up any mess.
Youth Groups and Duke of Edinburgh Award Cadets can be accommodated by arrangement.
Hamperley Campsite is ideally situated close to the Long Mynd on a quiet country road enabling both walkers and cyclists safe access to the many miles of tracks and bridleways.
