La Porte Camping is a small, rural, peaceful site in the heart of the French countryside with beautiful views. This is ideal base for visiting this lovely area of Normandy.
We are close to the famous St Sever Forest with its many walks and lakes which offer fishing or a relaxing oasis with picnic areas ect.
Our site has level grassy pitches, with approximately 10 plots, 6 are electric hookups.
here are showers and toilets.
Our site has been open now for many years and all the reviews we have received have been very encouraging.
We are a family run site in the heart of Normandy, France and are situated at the end of a no through road and as a result have no passing traffic assuring us complete peace and quiet. We also have our new C & B experience, learn more by going to our web page www.selfcontainedholidaysnormandy.com
We can also offer an evening meal if required.
A Charcoal BBQ is also available on all pitches and for our clients in tents we offer a picnic bench and seating, we have added a coin operated washing machine, a small childrens play area, and cycle hire as the new network of cycle routes pass right by our door,these consist of long routes for the enthusiast and short rides for those who are working on their fitness levels, all the routes have been laid out by the French tourist board and have easy to follow road signs in place.
If you love your caravan holidays but not the towing any more we could even have the answer to this, as we now offer a swift cornishe two berth caravan. We also have available a two single bed cabin with roof terrace, ideal for that late evening rest after a busy day sightseeing, watching the sun go down. Prices available on request, please book early as this option is proving very popular.
We also offer a service wash at an extra cost.
Our nearest village is 4 kilometres away and there is a market town 6k away which offers the essentials bank, bakers, supermarket and restaurants.
Nearby Attractions
We have an eighteen hole golf course approximately 10 kilometres from us which has beautiful views over Lake Datee which has a small watersports centre.
here is also a zip wire and bungy jump from Vire viaduct which also has go-karts and a children`s park.
We are approximately 30 mins from the coast where there is a good choice of beaches.
Horse riding is available nearby and there is also good fishing wether you want lakes, rivers or sea.
Other attractions are Le Mont St Michel, St Malo, Bayeaux Tapastry and the D Day Landing beaches are approximately an hour away. Villedue-les-poeles is well known for its copperware and bell foundery.
We are approximately 3 hrs from Paris by train and Euro Disney. So if it is a relaxing holiday or a more enagetic one this area caters for everyone.

Owner Directions
From Caen take directions A84 Renne, St Michel. Exit at junction 39 Villedue-les-poeles. Take direction St Cecile, Vire D524. Approximately 9 kilometres you pass through Fontenermont, take next turning on the left direction Courson. Continue over railway crossing and La Porte is the next turning on the left at the end of the lane.
