Welcome to Barra Sands Campsite
Tents, Campervans / Caravans (10 Hook ups available)
New purpose built separate Ladies and Gents toilet and shower facilities, with inside washing up area & washing machine facilities, outside water point.
Two toilets & two showers in each purpose built facility
Site is located at the north end of the island surrounded by beautiful white sandy beaches.
Barra Sands campsite is located at the north end of the island, where there are lots of beach's to explore, fresh sea air to breath and fantastic views to absorb.
If you are traveling with your own vehicle, remember to keep to the left, as the roads are mainly single lanes with passing places to allow oncoming traffic to pass, the only exception to this is the sheep which have no road sense and occupy any side of the road they please.
Barra has a very relaxed atmosphere with lots of bars to visit. There is a local taxi service for getting about as well as a regular bus service around the island.
When exploring the island you will find there is a slow relaxed way of life here, where the locals are very friendly and welcoming.
Nearby Attractions
Enjoy a refreshing snack or lunch time dining at the airport and watch the planes arrive and departing from the only commercial airport in the world that is washed twice a day and where the plane landing times are dictated by the state of the tide.
There are lots of wonderful places to discover on Barra, from the fantastically white sandy beaches, to the rich and varied wildlife and if adventurous, using the local boat trips to other uninhabited islands.
