Unique island campsite, accessible only by boat. This small site is situated on the River Soar between the villages of Mountsorrel and Barrow upon Soar which both have a variety of amenities, including pubs with visitor moorings.
Broome Island is only accessible by boat, with moorings available at our jetty. Feel free to bring your narrowboat, cruiser, dingy, kayak or paddleboard. Boats can be hired from Barrow Boating, Pillings Lock Marina and Sileby Mill Boatyard.
Please check our website for current pricing. There are no minimum numbers for booking, but wardening fees may apply for large groups.
Camping:
Bring your own tents, sleeping gear, toiletries, cooking equipment, utensils and chairs.
The site has a caravan-style toilet, sink and hot shower, and USB charging sockets. The facilities are off-grid with rainwater harvesting, drinking water is provided separately.
There is a central fire pit, a double-width brick BBQ, a large picnic bench and an outdoor washing up sink. Users have exclusive access of the site.
Toilet roll, hand soap and cleaning materials are provided for the toilet hut, as are charcoal and firelighters for the BBQ & fire pit. Some other equipment may be hired subject to availability
Riverside Cabin:
Our newly launched Riverside Cabin is perfect for a couple`s getaway or that special occasion. The pod features a comfy double bed, bedside lighting and USB sockets, breakfast bar with mini fridge, and warm furnishings for a comfortable stay. Introductory £75 per night.
Nearby Attractions
The nearby villages of Mountsorrel and Barrow Upon Soar have full amenities. Further afield are Loughborough and the City of Leicester.

Owner Directions
The site is accessible only by boat, there is no vehicle access and no private parking. Customers should utilise street parking in Barrow or Mountsorrel, and must not attempt to park at Meadow Farm Marina or Barrow Boaring. Please visit our website for FAQs.
The island is halfway between No 50 and No 51 locks on the River Soar Navigation. Street parking is available in Mountsorrel or Barrow Upon Soar.
