CCC members only joining available An extremely pleasant well maintained small family run site, quiet and secluded.
We are situated in a small hamlet in the Nith Valley, 8 miles north of Dumfries. The area offers peace and tranquility in gorgeous countryside, where there is an abundance of wildlife, including the now very rare Red Squirrel. now very scarce to find
Exploring the South West corner of Scotland could not be easier from this location, with a wealth of attractions and activities to explore and experience. Watch Hamish produce his prize winning honey or visit his Aipery out on the hill. Fish the River Nith 2 miles for trout or Grayling permits available
A warm welcome awaits you from Hamish and Margaret Steele who are only too willing to help make your's a special holiday.
Camp Site Facilities include: chemical disposal point and 14 amp hookups.
There are country hotels with bar and restaurant facilities within 2 miles and they offer excellent home made country fare
Nearby Attractions
The area has an excellent network of quiet country roads, walking, cycling, Birdwatching or just relax and unwind. The Solway coastline is also well worth a visit.
Drumlanrig Catle, Thornhill (8 miles) is a magnificant home to the Duke of Buccleugh set in a beautifully kept estate. With great bike trail and forest walks.
If you need more of a challenge the 7stanes mountian bike trails are within easy reach. Caerlaverock Castle and Bird Santuary offers a paradise for keen bird watchers.
There are good walks right from your caravan door and excellent river fishing for Brown Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon within 3 miles. over 1 mile Trout and Grayling fishing £10 per day
Glenmidge is also a perfect site for stargazers being located in an area with no light pollution.
