Opening Dates next year: 01/04/2025 to 31/10/2025
WE WELCOME EVERYONE TO OUR WONDERFUL SMALL, QUIET, FRIENDLY SITE on working family farm in a peaceful location, with magnificent views across the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. We welcome touring caravans, motor homes and tents to our clean cut site which is level and well drained. This is an ideal base for touring or walking the North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales or East Coast resorts - there is so much to do in the area. Although we are listed as a CCL site we have a separate field with pitches for non-members.
The site has easy access to many lovely local footpaths including the Cleveland Way and to the historic ruins of Rievaulx Abbey which is only two miles away. Alternatively, you can get away from the hustle and bustle, relax and take in the views of fabulous open countryside which you can only get from being situated on the top of the hill.
As we are a working livestock & arable farm you can expect to see sheep, cattle, tractors and our sheepdogs during your stay.
Our facilities include a toilet block with hot & cold water wash basins and electric hookups. Prices per night start from £10.00 per adult and £2.00 per child (4+) for tents and £20 for caravans with two adults plus £6 for electric hookup if required. We advise that you contact us to check availability and book for busy summer weekends and bank holidays. All facilities meet Camping & Caravanning Club regulations.
Popular market towns in the area include Helmsley and Thirsk (the home of James Herriot) where there is a plentiful range of shops and restaurants as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Larger market towns of Pickering, Malton, Ripon & Northallerton are only 30 minutes away.
Plenty of eating places and pubs in local towns and villages.
Plenty of cycle routes (with bike hire) and horse riding in the area.
Other local attractions include the National Bird of Prey Centre in Helmsley, Sutton Bank and the White Horse are only 2 miles away. 16 miles away in Pickering is the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and popular East coast resorts of Scarborough and Whitby are only 30 miles away.
The beautiful city of York with its Minster, Museums and quaint streets with an abundance of shops is 28 miles to the South.
In all, this is a wonderful place to stay to explore North Yorkshire at its best!! You can enjoy watching the beautiful sunrise and sunset without light pollution and you won`t be woken in the morning by the noise of passing traffic - this is the place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life!
